“GAIA” CARPET TILES/PLANKS – INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES

A) INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
1. The subfloor must be dry, smooth, flat & free from dust or any debris that could affect adhesions of the product on the floor.
2. The Moisture Vapor Emission Rate, Relative Humidity & Alkalinity testing must be performed to give an accurate assessment of the concrete condition and the acceptable limits of test results should be between pH7 & pH9.
3. All cracks, holes and flooring irregularities are required to be repaired to ensure a flat and prevent accelerated wear.
4. Recomeded installation method are shown on every box of carpet tiles/planks. GAIA recommend to follow the method shown with the help of arrow.
5. Recommended usage area is shown in every GAIA carpet tiles shade selector/folder. The selected products are appropriate for their intended area of use.
6. It is the contractors/buyers responsibility to check the products, pattern, colour, quality & batch/lot no. before starting the installation at site.

B) MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES
1. Carpet tiles/planks maintenance must be regularly carried out to extend the life of the products.
2. Moist soil is transferred to the carpets from foot traffic. The use of an effective dirt barrier matting will reduce the rate of soiling. All the external entrances, goods lifts, loading and off-loading stations and adjoining hard areas should have the dirt barrier matting installed for first 10 steps. It is very important that the dirt barrier matting is maintained and serviced on daily basis, once the dirt barrier is full of soil, it ceases to be effective.
3. Chair mats/pads are recommended under the office castor wheel chairs to avoid premature wear/tear to the carpet tiles/planks.
4. Vacuuming is the most effective method of removing soil from carpet tiles/planks and the most economical. While vacuuming your carpets tiles/planks sounds easy enough, there’s actually a little more to it if you want to do it right. Vacuum method should be slow passes instead of several quick passes. We recommend an upright dual motor vacuum cleaner. These machines, with independent motors for suction and brushing, are the most effective.
5. Regular pile lifting with a motorised commercial pile lifter keeps the fibre standing upright and separated. In addition to any problem, this procedure will make vacuuming more effective.
6. Make a plan for removing spots as they happen on regular basis. When it comes to spot removal, speed is definitely a factor.
7. Clean up all spills promptly before a spill becomes a permanent stain. Rinse the area with water after the stain has been removed.

An effective vacuum/shampoo cleaning program is essential to the success of any maintenance plan. GAIA recommend you to follow the below mentioned guidelines for better & durable products life –
